After spending a few minutes with Jerry Winnett you can see first-hand the energy and excitement that went into building one of the most successful communities in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. Just as Lakeway, Texas has grown from a small, vacation lake community to a bustling town with world-class golf and a galleria mall so has Jerry Winnett’s real estate career. Jerry’s began his Lakeway, Texas real estate career in 1978 selling the original Lakeway lots for The Lakeway Company. After successfully achieving many sales goals and contributing to a rapidly growing community Jerry was promoted to Vice President of Real Estate for Lakeway Company operations.
In 1980 Jerry worked with representatives from Lakeway Company to develop the home sites that surround the Jack Nicklaus Signature designed Hills of Lakeway Golf Course. Over the next 10 years Jerry was a top producer for Lakeway Company. After a successful leadership role in both Lakeway and The Hills of Lakeway Jerry started his own company with a group of respected co-workers and friends from Lakeway Company. Soon after, he was asked to oversee the development of sales and marketing for Lakeway’s premier golf course resort community Flintrock Falls. The Flintrock Falls Golf Course was designed by Jack Nicklaus and his son Jack Jr. The Hills and Flintrock Falls Golf Course remain the only side-by-side Nicklaus designed courses in Texas.
Having walked on the undeveloped land in Lakeway, The Hills of Lakeway and Flintrock Falls, Jerry has a true connection with each property in all of these communities. He has sold many of the home sites and homes more than three times and has worked with many of the residents on purchasing property numerous times. Jerry has contributed countless hours to improving the community he has served for almost 30 years. Jerry and his wife Sherri have lived in Lakeway for almost 30 years and have a daughter who has been a student in the local schools from elementary school through high school. He has sat on numerous architectural committees and has been a participating member of the Austin Chamber of Commerce, Austin Better Business Bureau, Lake Travis Chamber of Commerce, National Association of Realtors, Texas Association of Realtors and Austin Board of Realtors for many years.
